ADINATH MUKHERJEE

(1921-1959)

Adinath Mukherjee was a prominent Indian artist known for his contributions to modern art. Born in Kolkata, 1921. He studied from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. Mukherjee was deeply influenced by the artistic movements of his time, particularly modernism and abstraction. He trained under Italian Artist Jesthalene in Italy. He Had a solo exhibition in Rome, 1957, sponsored by National Council of Art, Italy. He worked in oils, watercolors with wash technique, crayons along with depiction of human’s day-today life or activities, landscapes. 

Throughout his career, Mukherjee exhibited his work widely and received several accolades for his contributions to art. His art reflects a deep understanding of both traditional Indian and contemporary Western influences, making him a significant figure in the Indian art scene of the 20th century. 

Adinath Mukherjee passed away in 1959.
