Haimanti Sen was born in Delhi 1964 and is a Delhi-based artist. She studied BFA from College of Arts, New Delhi. She is the daughter of eminent artist Arup Das. Sen has cultivated a unique artistic style, describing it as a fusion of pointillism with abstract elements. She carefully selects soothing colours to evoke a sense of mysticism. Some of her works incorporate symbolic motifs, adding layers of meaning. Her favourite themes are Banaras and water, which resonate deeply with her. By connecting with these subjects, she not only captures their essence but also strengthens her connection to her own roots. She primarily works in acrylics, charcoals, pens & inks, and watercolors and she often incorporates depictions of various places and monuments in her artworks.
After 29 years of experience, she now seeks to transition her expertise into the realm of Art Therapy. According to Sen, describes Art Therapy as a form of expressive therapy that allows individuals to freely express themselves through painting or simply playing with colours, without the need for defined lines or shapes. This creative process serves as a powerful tool for enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being, offering a therapeutic outlet for self-expression and healing.
