Harendra Shah was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, 1952, He studied in National Diploma in Fine Arts, Indore,1973. He is an artist known for using colours and abstract shapes in his paintings. He mostly paints with oil on canvas. In 1996, he won the Bharat Bhavan Biennale award, and he has also received the Lalit Kala Akademi award for Madhya Pradesh.
His art focuses on exploring the abstract world. He pays close attention to how light and shadows interact—this contrast between light and dark is important in his work.
