Lalit H. Vikamshi was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra, 1978. He studied in MFA in painting from Nagpur University, G.D. in art from Kalacharya Pandhe Guruji Chitra Shilpa Mahavidyalaya, T.R.V. Khamgaon. 2002 and Diploma in Adv. Computer Arts, Pune. 2004. He is a well-known artist whose artworks are admired not only in India but also around the world. He has been passionate about art since he was young and chose to become an artist. He often creates 3D paintings and sculptures that are so beautiful people can't help but look at them. He also worked in BMW art project in which he customized paintings of BMW cars with polka dots. Moreover, he is also a co-founder of Alagangle which is an open art space for art lovers who love to create and experience art. He achieved several awards and participated in many groups shows in Nagpur, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Dubai, Berlin Sweden and Denmark. His works was also exhibited at Domus Art Gallery in 2008.
Vikamshi is an artist who focuses on the figurative human body in his art. He celebrates the body, its sensuousness, and human sexuality in a way that is open and not too direct. His colorful paintings show the human body in various posture and activities, full of agility and movement. The bodies in his art are fragmented, faceless, and unrecognizable, which shifts the focus away from individual personalities to the body itself. He uses a graphic style in his work, often covering the bodies with polka dots. This motif fascinates him and adds visual richness to his pieces. His art is about appreciating the body in its pure form, shown in a unique and visually engaging way.
He is a quiet person who uses the same art medium. Over time, he has developed a unique style with his sensual paintings. His work connects with art lovers and tries to create bonds. Sometimes his paintings are simple, but they are always deeply thoughtful. Lalit's colours are easy to understand. He is also one of the few artists who use technology to improve his art.
