Sudhangsu Bandyopadhyay was born in Kolkata,1949, and he is an eminent Indian Contemporary artist, known for abstract landscape painting. He studied Diploma in Western painting and sculpture from Govt. Collage of Arts & Crafts, Kolkata and his furthered studies in History of Art and Art Appreciation from Calcutta University. He has done many solo and group shows in India and in abroad, especially Germany. Throughout his career, he received many awards. His participation in important Indian art shows like the National Exhibition and the Painting and Print Biennial, showing he is a significant figure in the art world. He has actively engaged in workshops and camps both in India and other countries, which helps him grow as an artist.
